STEP’s support system allows residents to avoid the isolation that can sometimes come with returning home while in recovery.
Sober living homes provide a combination of freedom and structure to help the person begin to readjust to life outside of treatment and incarceration.

The standards were developed through a strength-based, collaborative approach that solicited input from all major regional and national recovery housing organizations as well as recovery residence providers (some with decades of experience) and nationally recognized recovery support stakeholders.
